What information we collect, why we collect it and how we save it  

Using our website:

The www.spminstrument.com website, and other registered domains associated with SPM Instrument and its subsidiaries, collect information about site visitors using Google Analytics. This information includes your IP address and your movements on our websites, which is standard Google Analytics settings. This information is collected as part of a legitimate interest to track statistics on our website, develop usage patterns and understand how our website is being used. The information is stored on the Google Analytics platform. Further information about yourself may be processed by Google, and might include information such as age, gender, interest etc. This information is used to enhance the statistics we see about the SPM World Wide Web pages. SPM Instrument and its subsidiaries do not use this information for other purposes than to understand the usage of our webpages. Signing up for our newsletter:

In order to subscribe to our newsletter, you must provide your name and email address. When you subscribe, you consent to us storing this information in a list on our newsletter platform until you decide to opt out. SPM Instrument and its subsidiaries use the tool Paloma for our newsletter activities, and store the personal information you have provided on their website. We will only use the personal information you have provided to send you newsletters, and we will not share your contact information with any third parties. You always have the option to opt out of any further newsletters at any time.

Contacting us using forms on our website:

By contacting us using a form on our website, you agree that your message and personal details will be sent by email to relevant recipient(s) at SPM Instrument. You also agree that SPM Instrument and its subsidiaries will have access to the information you have provided and that these data will be stored on our email server. The data will not be saved in any other way. We will not use this information to contact you about matters other than those specified in your request. We will not share your information with third parties.

Using our applications:  

Our applications, including SPM Connect, does not save any personal information but purely technical information related to the function of the application. The technical data will only be stored locally on your device. SPM Instrument cannot use the technical data for any other purposes than those set out by the app (e.g.: configurating a new instrument) or share the information with any third-parties. Some apps may include the function auto-complete, whereby the application remembers previously entered information to simplify usage. SPM Instrument does not have access to this information.

Customers:

SPM Instrument and the SPM International subsidiaries are all involved with B2B-sales and marketing of our own products. This means that we in most cases (except in the two situations stated above) purely deal with personal information to discuss business to business matters. As a registered customer whose company has a contract with SPM Instrument, owns SPM Instrument products, or subscribes to SPM Instrument services, we save your contact details. For customers who have had previous contact with SPM Instrument and have registered orders with us, we save contact details and order history for 10 years after our final contact, in accordance with the Swedish Bookkeeping Act. For new customers, it is our legitimate interest to save your details for future communications and marketing.

The information we save includes things such as place of work, name, work telephone number and work email. We only save this information after you have actively submitted it to our sales people, and we only contact you out of our legitimate interest to provide you with the best service. Such contacts might include information that might be of interest to you, or matters related to your business contract, or products and services, such as SPM ServiceNet. Again, as SPM Instrument only sell products and services to other businesses, we never contact you about personal matters or matters not related to our business/potential business. We store your information in our CRM system, which saves directly onto our private server. We do not transfer this information to third parties, and our European subsidiaries do not transfer it outside of the EU. After the contract is expired, your product guarantee has run out, or your service contract is over, we may keep your information as part of our legitimate interest to stay in touch and keep delivering the best level of service to you and your company. You always have the right to have your information removed, altered or changed, in line with the GDPR rights stated above, by contacting privacy@spminstrument.se.

Securing your data

SPM Instrument and its subsidiaries takes IT security seriously, especially when it comes to protecting the integrity of our customers, partners, suppliers, and employees. We make sure that all our information is either stored on servers on-premises, or servers within the EU (if talking about our European subsidiaries). Our third-party data processors are all highly competent in carrying out work in our systems in the most secure way possible, most often using VPN services to log in via our own network. We do not risk your data by transferring it outside of our network. We follow best practices within IT security to protect both our servers, our network, and our devices, and all personnel dealing with your data internally follow established safety procedures. No need to worry, we’ve got you covered.

Data processors

In some cases, we cannot do everything ourselves. The data processors we allow into our systems and websites are only there to help us keep our systems and websites running as smoothly as possible. We never transfer your data to our data processors, or allow any automated data profiling to be carried out. Our data processors only carry out pre-established tasks set out in an agreement between us and them, and we have continuous contact during the process to make sure your data and your integrity are protected throughout.
